What do I do if my child is going to be absent?

Student Absence SMS: 0426 305 678 Information should include student’s name, class, reason for absence and duration of absence or record the absence on QParents. Children are required to attend school regularly. Each day is important and children should not be absent at any stage without a valid reason. Please advise as soon as possible if your child is absent or going to be absent.  Queensland state schools are to advise parents/carers when their child is absent without explanation as soon as practicable on that day, allowing time for parents/carers to respond before the end of the school day. The safety of each student every day is paramount to what we do and therefore if a student is not at school in the morning we need to be sure that they are with you. If your child is away and you have not notified the school, an SMS text message will be automatically sent to the mobile phone of the designated parent explaining that our records show that your child is absent from school.

What if my child is late to school?

If student/students are late to school they must report to the office to sign in before going to their classrooms. A parent must provide explanation either in person or by note or the late arrival will be recorded as unexplained.

What if my child must be collected during the day from school?

Please notify the school office and your child will meet you at the office so that they can be signed out. The student needs to be signed out/in by a parent or guardian. Parents are not permitted to go to classrooms to collect students. Please notify the office if you will be bringing your child back to school after the appointment.
