Fitzgerald State School Community events are well supported and reflect the community commitment to developing a community identity.
Parent and volunteer involvement in classroom, enrichment, sporting and other school activities is actively encouraged, further cementing the positive relationship between the school and wider community.
Parents and teachers share the responsibility for the education of their children. This vital partnership is enhanced by open communication channels between school and home, an ‘open door’ policy and welcoming parents as important participants in learning activities.
An active Parents and Citizens Association is in operation. Membership is open to all community members over the age of 18 years. The executive consists of the President, a Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer.
The Fitzgerald State School Council represents staff, administration, P&C and the wider community, and oversees and monitors the school’s strategic direction.
